Christopher Lutz says:

Freakin’ idea, but … what about the life cycle assessment of these solar roadways? Nowadays, a conventional photovoltaic cell needs to run for about 1 to 2 years until you get out the energy that has been needed for its production. When used in a roadway the lighting conditions are worse and the strain through traffic is intense, so with current technology it will take decades (at least) before it makes sense energy-wise.

Another thought that makes me shudder: Putting sensors into the panels means that every single footstep can be recorded.

Yes, please cover everything with this stuff =D

The biggest problem would be to get enough Silicon… but rust could be a interesting alternative: http://www.wissenschaft-aktuell.de/artikel/Billig_schlaegt_effizient__Solarenergie_per_Rost_speichern1771015588793.html
